Job Description:
1. Collect and evaluate statistical and financial data on the economy and financial markets, with a specific focus on researching common stocks within assigned sectors.
2. Compile data from various public databases and synthesize it into written reports that will serve as a basis for discussions with senior staff.
3. Interpret data and perform analysis on market, economic, and political events.
4. Monitor and evaluate company news and related events.
5. Conduct interviews with company executives or industry leaders to develop and maintain sources of information for analysis purposes.
6. Utilize different valuation models and techniques to determine a fair value and/or price estimate for each of the covered companies.
7. Assist in publishing reports and notes on the covered companies, including providing opinions and recommendations.
8. Communicate with sales traders and colleagues within the Research department.
9. Engage in daily activities such as:
- Developing a fundamental investment thesis for equity selection.
- Analyzing current financial statements.
- Determining and communicating the business model.
- Identifying potential positive and negative risks to investment recommendations.
